Join the COST Action IS1302 – Towards a EU Research Framework on Forensic Psychiatric Care

There are two possible scenarios to join the COST Action IS1302

  1. For individuals/institutions from COST Countries

You should first consult on the COST website if your country is a so called COST Country.

  1. For individuals/institutions from non-COST Countries

  1. For individuals/institutions from COST Countries

Within 1 year from the CSO Approval, anybody can join the Action without MC approval. This means that for Action IS1302, up to 21st of October 2014 no MC approval is needed to join the Action.

Until this date, there are 2 options:

  1. Your country has not yet accepted the Action´s Memorandum of Understanding. Contact your COST National Coordinator (CNC) who can launch your country´s participation procedure. Once done, the CNC can officially nominate you as a representative of your country to the MC Committee.
  2. Your country has accepted the Action’s MoU and the CNC has already nominated two MC representatives. In that case, contact the Chair and/or Vice-Chair (isch1302@gmail.com) for nomination as a Working Group member by completing the Working Group registration form (see above).

After this date:

  1. Send your application (motivation letter and CV) to the Chair and Vice Chair of the Action (isch1302@gmail.com).
  2. The MC will discuss your application and decide upon your participation – at the MC Meeting or by written procedure.
  3. You’ll have to contact your COST National Coordinator (CNC) to inform them about the positive MC decision and ask them to accept the MoU (imperative to be able to become MC Member) and to nominate you as MC Member).
  4. The CNC accepts the MoU and nominates you as MC Member.
  5. You receive from e-COST an invitation to create your e-COST profile.
  6. You are now a member of the MC and will receive all the relevant information/invitations etc.

  1. For individuals/institutions from non-COST Countries

If you or the institution you work for is not from a COST country, there are three options to participate in the Action:

  1. As an invited Expert for a specific meeting (can be reimbursed)
  2. Participation in the COST Action on basis of mutual benefit which can be approved on case-by-case basis (see also for more information the COST website).

i.      Participants from formally approved institutions from a Near Neighbour Country

ii.      Participants from International Partner Country (can NOT be reimbursed)

  1. Reciprocal Agreement at present with New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina.

Procedure for non-COST countries:

  1. Complete the “non-COST country institution template” and send it together with your application (motivation letter and CV) to the Chair and Vice Chair of the Action (XXX).
  2. The MC will discuss your application and decide upon your participation – at the MC Meeting or by written procedure.
  3. Once approved the participants from Near Neighbour Countries will be entitled to one reimbursement per meeting under the same rules as the participants from COST countries Participants from other non-COST countries will NOT be eligible for reimbursement.
